Since our beginning in 1969, the VILLAGE has established and maintained a reputation for aggressively implementing work programs that parallel those of industry and business. These efforts have increased our financial independence and enabled us to provide a variety of training opportunities to those enrolled. Income generated from our various work initiatives consistently accounts for more than 50% of our operating budget.
