The Summer Thrive Program is a free, engaging summer initiative offered by The Village of Progress for adults age 18 and older with developmental disabilities who reside in Ogle County.
Designed for individuals who may be on summer break from school or looking for meaningful daytime activities, Summer Thrive provides opportunities to connect, learn, explore the community, and have fun in a supportive and inclusive environment.
Participants enjoy structured days filled with recreation, community outings, skill-building activities, and social experiences that promote independence, confidence, and friendship.
Program Schedule
Summer Thrive is offered in week-long sessions from 9:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. once monthly in June, July, and August.
Weekly activities may include nature hikes, volunteer opportunities, sports and fitness activities, cooking projects, community outings, creative experiences, and special events. Specific activities vary by week and may include trips, park days, bowling, crafts, gardening, and on-site celebrations.
