Village of Progress awarded Business of the Year

The Business of the Year award went to the Village of Progress, a not-for-profit that provides services and programs for developmentally disabled adults.

“Since the beginning, this long time community partner has provided services, training, support, and employment for hundreds of adults throughout our county,” Dickson said. “They have established and maintained a well-respected reputation for aggressively implementing work programs to suit the needs of their clients, regardless of the challenge.”

Executive director Brion Brooks thanked the community for its support, especially in the aftermath of heavy rains that flooded and damaged their buildings last month.

“I’ve come to realize that a non-profit is just a receptacle for grace,” he said in accepting the award.
